There are several tools created for building MFM models and reasoning about the causes and consequences.
Kairos Workbench
Formerly known as EGolF (Eldor Goals and Functions), the cloud-based tool is used for building models according to the Multilevel Flow Modeling (MFM) methodology to represent goals and functions of complex engineering systems. This is the latest and most comprehensive tool for building MFM models and for performing causal reasoning.
You can register for WorkBench here and start creating your own models in WorkBench here.
MFM Suite
The MFM Suite consists primarily of two graphical editors developed at the Halden Reactor Project (HRP) and an MFM reasoning engine developed at DTU. It not only provides a user friendly model building environment, but it also contains a rule-base reasoning system that is able to find the consequences of a given cause. The primary use of the MFM Suite is diagnosis and prognosis of anomalies in physical processes.
